I REALLY want to go backpacking. I’ve never been, but I love to go camping and I think backpacking would be one of the most perfect ways to experience God’s creation. I hope I get to do this someday soon, it would be a wonderful hobby. Now, if only I could find a backpacking buddy.

I would happily like to report that one backpacking buddy has been found. Her name is Ashley Diane Siemens. She loves to travel, has remote backpacking experience though difficulty level of mentioned experienced should be cross-referenced. Ashley is especially open to traveling to places looking similar or identical to posted picture above but is not unable to compromise or unwilling to attempt other terrain. She has other useful qualities to offer as a back packing buddy, some include but are not limited to; non-snorer,practically professional but unlicensed masseuse, mediocre pianist and hummer (good for inspirational and appropriate songs such as ‘Climb Every Mountain’), as well as the unique ability to locate a Starbucks even in unknown territory. If interested, feel free to contact, I’m pretty sure you have her number. :)

I never take pictures.  I have a camera, but it is so unnatural for my to whip it out and ask someone to awkwardly pose with me so I can document the moment, friendship, experience etc. Also, there is always that one obnoxious person taking pictures at every turn with whom I end up getting ever-so-slightly peeved with because of their incessant demands to ‘smile’. Yet I find that I appreciate their pictures afterwards. And so continues the struggle…  Anyways, the purpose of this post was NOT to talk about how I don’t take pictures (uhhh, how boring) but what I would have taken pictures of if I did.

Picture 1: Body Worlds in San Diego with my lifegroup [click]

Okay, this was sooo coool. I went down the the Natural History Museum in San Diego to see the Body Worlds Exhibit. I was nervous about seeing dead people, organs revealed and displayed but it wasn’t that bad.  There was something artistic about each display along with anatomical and biological functions and facts.  Each cadaver displayed carried a theme featuring a facet of the human body.  It was fascinating to see how intimately our bodies are made. You should all go.

Picture 2: Roxi and I  [click]

Monday I met with friend and former ISP leader Roxi for lunch at Jammin’ Bread in Canyon Crest. I would just like to say that she is undoubtably one of my favorite people. We do not get the chance to see each other often. But when we do find the freedoms in our schedule to meet I always leave feeling refreshed and encouraged. I love how our conversations are centered around how God has been using us and working in our lives.  I am truly thankful for her; her individuality, her ability to see the sun shine through the rain clouds, her encouragement, and her friendship. Everyone should know a Roxi. :)

He treated me to Islands to celebrate starting my new job. He left me to wash his hands just before the food arrived, so I stole all of his fries. Knowing that I cannot keep a straight face to save my life I strategically passed him on the way to wash my hands. I only wish I could have taken a picture of his face as he wondered where all his fries had gone.

Picture 4: New Job [click]

I started my full time job on Tuesday. So far it has been going really well. This week is just preparation, training, and gathering materials. I have had a good time getting to know my co-workers and will enjoy working with them!  I am really excited for next week when we are in the classrooms with the kids making the transition to a new class as easy as possible.

k, time for bed. I’m a boring now that I get up at 6 am everyday. G’night.

First day of work.

6am. Gosh its early… when was the last time I got up at 6? Eeesh.

I start my full time job today. I can’t believe I have entered into the full-time work force. It can’t be real. It is too soon.

No time for tumblr, gotta pick out my ‘work clothes’ and pack a lunch (maybe?).

See you at 5 pm, after traffic.

And lastly, this guy came home. We’ve been trying to cram summer into 2 weeks before he goes back to CBU for Focus.  I got to spend some time in Bmont and then down in Oceanside with his fam, and then he spent this weekend chillin with my family at my house. No one could be happier that he is home…  okay well maybe his mom and dad,… aaaaand his sisters too…. and then all his friends, okay okay, but I am happy, and SUUPER excited he’s back in America. :)

One of my last posts I had written about the dementor panel interviewers. Well the Lord totally provided and I got the job! This is all the insurance stuff they gave me.  So I’m reading and trying to choose which health care plan will be best for me before I am no longer given that right and Obama decides to do that for me.
Anyways, I am a Direct Intense Behavior Support Para-educator.  Suuper long title meaning doing the same behavioral therapy for autistic children that I am doing now, except it is full time and through an L.A. district. :) Yay. I start September 8th.

Exploring the creepy cave.

Exploring the creepy cave.

After the hike.

After the hike.

Camping was great. And by camping I mean no showers, pit toilets, you bathe in the river, you get used to constant dirt everywhere, and you quit worrying if a bug falls into the eggs.

But really, it was a wonderful week. I read Jim Elliot’s biography (In the Shadow of the Almighty)  if you want to read a compelling book about a young guy who was completely sold out for Jesus Christ, there it is. There is so much more to be said about the short life he lived, but I wont and will just say ‘read it.’

The rest of the trip was spent at the river, hiking, and exploring, normal camping stuff.

I'm back people.

Oh how I have neglected you, tumblr. I realized my last post was about camping, and that was a while ago.  A lot has happened since. Get ready.
