Why, oh why did we not learn??? Why must we regress back into dark days of dangerous perms, taffeta and lace. Why travel through the lands of nylon/poly blends and neon blush? Why!? I admit, while I have not fully disregarded the resurgence of all 80’s fashion trends I still reside a safe distance from treacherous territory. And although never jumping onto the 80’s fashion band wagon, I confess I have been trailing behind for a bit adopting a few choice peices to fill my wardrobe (leggings, vests, flannels, semi acid wash black jeans). But I have reached my limit! No more. The madness stops here. I now and forever pledge to maintain a respectful and appropriate distance. This is absurd people. Puffy sleeves are the appetizers to shoulder pads!! Why?? What is attractive about women with shoulders rivaling linebackers? Avant garde- oh please. It was George Santayana who said those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. How very wise George, very wise indeed.
